Hey, This has probably been discussed before, but my Danish is horrible. I have gotten a new job in DK which I will begin soon. I tried to get them to pay for a bridge pass as part of our terms of employment, but that didn't work out. They did offer to pay for the bridge from my wages before taxes though. I am trying to calculate how much that saves me in the long run, and I have a lot of questions. 1) If the bridge pass is under the company's account, then it seems I won't be able to to the extra avdrag of 100 DKK/day for going over the bridge (Is that right?) 2) I will be paying the price of the bridge that the company pays (which is less MOMs), so I save 25% . If this is true, then #1 and #2 seem to pretty much cancel each other out. 3) I would be paying for the bridge before income taxes, so it seems that would save me another 30% or so (I am not sure what taxes I would pay on that bridge money. I am not in the highest tax bracket yet) 4) Does anyone know what other things I need to think about. Does the company still pay their share of pension on this money for the bridge. Are there any other taxes I will be paying because of this deal that I haven't calculated. 5) MOST IMPORTANT - Do I actually save a bit of money doing this (how much approximately)? and if I do save money why wouldn't most people try to get their employer to do this for them. It doesn't cost the company anything (does it?) Regards, Scott

Kan someone let me know if I would gain much from my employer paying for the BroBizz, They would take it from my wage (before taxes). If they do this, should I be taxed for any amount of the BroBizz. I am not in the highest tax bracket. It seems too easy otherwise and the State is missing out on some money it seems, whcih they never like to do, especially in DK. If I pay for brobizz, I pay VAT and all the costs get paid after I have paid my taxes on my full wage. (of course I get the 100DKK/day extra fradrag) If my employer pays for the BroBizz, no VAT gets paid and I pay less taxes becasue my income has been reduced, meaning they lose out again. (of course I can't do the extra 50 DKK fradrag.) Have I understood correctly how it works? I have been told differnt things. Do I get to do the daily km fradrag no matter I choose to do? I am a little confused

Hey, I live in Central Malmø and work in Høje Tåstrup. I have been driving with someone for 3 years, but she is about to have a baby and will be gone for over a year. Is the anyone who wishes to drive with me or would like to have me in their car, or we each could drive every other week (which is what I do now). Currently, I meet up at the StatOil at the Limhamn exit just before the Tull, and that has worked out great for years. I work pretty normal hours 37 hours/week: (mon-thurs 8-16.00) (friday- 8-15.30) I am quite flexible though on my hours. I might be able to get a slightly discounted bridge pass through my job, but that can be discussed later. Anyone interested can email or call. I can understand written Danish for those who not so comfortable writing in English. Regards, Scott sme1972@yahoo.com +45 2373 1875 +46 763 461619

Thanks for all your help - More explanation added now Regarding HR dept: you guys know 10 times more than anyone here. We only have 3 people here living in Sweden and some people share BroBizz, so it gets complicated for them. The way it works for me today is this: My employer reduces my wage by 1500 DKK every month before any taxes. I don't even see this anywhere on my paycheck. I only see I am earning less money as my base sum. Then my company pays the entire Brobizz cost and the Brobizz is in my company's name. It seemed like a good deal for me at the time since I would otherwise be paying over 3000 DKK/month after taxes if I was to pay all by myself. Now that you have more information about my situation and since it is not 100% of the BroBizz amount that is being taken off my paycheck, what am I allowed to deduct from my taxes at the end of the year. I am assuming since the pass is not in my name, I cannot get the 100DKK/day extra deduction. Can I still get the milage deduction which is quite high at 120 km/day.

Hey, I am not Danish, but you can answer in Danish. i will figure it out. Here is my issue. I also live in Sweden but work in Denmark and my job wants me to sign something that doesn't sound right. i have looked, and can't find any info about it. Our Økomomichef went to a refresher course for Skattregler and now he says that since they pay for my Brobizz (or rather just a part of it), I need to sign some paper for some new Skat rules. Her is what the paper says word for word: "I forbindelse med firmaets betaling af din brobizz, samt overholdelse af forpligtigelse over for Skat, skal vi hermed bede dig bekræfte, at du ikke foretager befordringsfradrag på din danske selvangivelse." When I asked what this was about, he said there is a new rule that if your employer payes for BroBizz then I will be taxed on the BroBizz amount if I declare my befordringsfradrag on my taxes. If I don't declare the befordringsfradrag then i won't be taxed on the BroBizz amount. Can someone explain how it all works. If this is all true, I would probably be better off declaring befordringsfradrag anyways even if I get taxed on the BroBizz. I haven't worked it all out yet. And would it be the amount my company pays for BroBizz (which is without taxes of course, which makes it even lower)? Regards, Scott

I am looking for someone to drive with Hey, I work close to the motorvæg exit in Høje Taastrup. I believe that is the same road that you take to Roskilde. it takes approx. 2-3 minutes from the motorway exit to my job I currently drive with someone else to Taastrup, but he is starting a new job in København after this month. I have flexibel working hours as long as I work 37 hours a week. I live in Malmø (nobeltorget), but I can bike to Limhamn each morning. It is what I have been doing anyways for the past 2 years. If any of you are interested, then let me know: email: sme1972@yahoo.com tel. (dk) +45 23731875 tel. (sv) +46 708461619 mvh Scott p.s. my Danish is very very bad

I want to commute with you hello, My name is Scott and am an American living permanently in Malmo. I have a job in Høje Taastrup also and am so tired of the trains. It takes me sometimes 2 till 2.5 hours (one way). It is awful and so unreliable, especially now that that have cancelled the trains to Høje Taastrup during the summer. But you already know this. My Swedish is good, but my Danish is awful. I have a car, live next to Folkets Park and work the same hours that you do (more or less). I work here: Helgeshøj Allé 38 DK-2630 Taastrup (1.5-2 km from Høje Taastrup train station) I am on vacation August 5-20th and am suppose to buy a new train card on the august 21st. I would love to start going with someone on that date instead. Call me and/or email if you are interested: At work +45 43588351 mobil +46 (0)708978026 home +46 (0)40 124616 email: sme1972@yahoo.com Regards, Scott
